Maricel Soriano accused of beating up maids

Two housemaids of actress Maricel Soriano accused the veteran actress of allegedly beating them when they guested live in Mon Tulfo’s Isumbong Mo Kay Tulfo program on 990 AM Thursday.
May Cachuela, 22 and Camille Acojedo, 18, said the incident happened 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Soriano’s residence at the Rizal Tower in Rockwell, Makati City.

Cachuela said Soriano, who is known in the industry as the “Diamond Star”, became furious and kicked her on the leg when the actress apparently did not like the arrangement of her clothes which she would be using in a showbiz engagement.

Cachuela added that Soriano’s son Sebastian saw the incident and asked his mother not to hurt her.
Acojedo also claimed that she had seen Soriano allegedly using illegal drugs, resulting in the Diamond Star’s odd behavior at times and prompting their celebrity employer to throw cuss words at them.

990AM tried to get in touch with Soriano to air her side about the allegations of the two, who had been with the Soriano household for only two weeks, but was not picking up her phone.

Meanwhile, Soriano’s personal assistant Inday Castillo said in a phone interview that Cachuela and Acojedo’s allegations were not true and that they were only making up stories.

“I wasn’t aware of Maricel’s problem concerning her househelps. I’m now trying to find out,” Malou Choa-Fagar, Soriano’s business manager, told Inquirer Entertainment.

990AM has learned that there was a previous complaint against Soriano in Barangay (village) Poblacion, Makati City for allegedly failing to give three months’ worth of salary of another housemaid.

Cachuela and Acojedo are decided on pressing charges against the award-winning actress.
